The Mastercycler X50 family boasts ramp rates of up to 10 °C/s and is the ideal cycler family for routine applications as well as advanced research in molecular biology.
The Mastercycler X50 family consist of units with a user-friendly VisioNize® touchscreen interface or eco units which are externally controlled. Each cycler with a touchscreen can be networked with nine additional eco units. If that is not enough throughput, you can network up fifty Mastercycler eco units to a computer or laptop running CycleManager X50 as a central controller. Whichever you choose, you can independently control and monitor every unit. You can also manage who has access to the system and designate a level of access with our intuitive user interface. Low noise levels, low power consumption, and the versatile flexlid® concept complete the product to be a powerful and convenient PCR cycler.
PCR Optimization of β-actin Gene with 2D-Gradient technique.
2D-Gradient allows you to optimize both the denaturation temperature (bottom to top) and the annealing temperature (left to right) during the same run. Higher denaturation temperatures can have the advantage of increased specificity while lower denaturation temperatures reduce stress on biomolecules and can lead to increased yield. Assays that struggle to work reliably at a 95° denaturation temperature could benefit significantly from the optimization of the denaturation temperature.
Results needed asap?
PCR should be faster. That gives you quicker results, throughout the day, and a faster transition to optimal temperatures. The Mastercycler X50 heats with 10 °C/s and cools with 5 °C/s. Make the speed of the Mastercycler X50 your research advantage.
Checking ramp rates by the stopwatch?
There is a large variety of cyclers available with different ramp rates published.
If you compare the corresponding run times by performing the same protocol using different cyclers, you see that ramp rates do not tell the full story about whether a cycler is fast or not. For more details, see Application Note 274.
Annoyed by uncomfortable handling?
Ergonomics is far beyond the »ergonomically designed chair«. Eppendorf started to optimize the laboratory devices regarding ergonomics already in the early 1970s.
In 2003, we started the PhysioCare Concept, focusing on ergonomic liquid handling devices like our pipettes.
Nowadays, the Eppendorf PhysioCare Concept is broaden up to include further laboratory products as a holistic solution to harmonize the workflow in your laboratory with your health and well-being, e.g. for the Eppendorf Mastercyler:
› Ergonomically designed lid closure
› Low noise level for convenient working conditions at the bench
› Small footprint to enable position in direct arm reach at your bench
› Standardized »user-interface concept« for intuitive handling of devices
› Guided software for easy handling
